Audi has officially launched four new models in China, offering both electric and combustion powertrains. The lineup includes the Audi Q6L e-tron, Q6L Sportback e-tron, Audi A5L, and A5L Sportback — each designed to cater to China’s growing demand for both sustainable mobility and traditional driving performance.
Electric Flagships on PPE Platform
Leading the release are the Audi Q6L e-tron and Q6L Sportback e-tron, the first localized models built on Audi’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE). These EVs boast:

These models debuted at a special launch event in Hangzhou on August 7, following the Audi A5L Sportback’s local market introduction on August 1.
A5L Series on PPC Platform
In partnership with FAW and SAIC, Audi also introduced the A5L and A5L Sportback, built on the Premium Platform Combustion (PPC). These petrol-powered models bring:
- Dynamic handling and fuel efficiency
- Advanced driver assistance features
- Tailored configurations for the Chinese market
Production and Partnerships
All four models are produced under Audi FAW NEV Company, a joint venture between Audi and its longtime partner FAW, at a new facility in Changchun.
Audi’s collaboration strategy in China continues to expand:
