The Rise of Car Subscription Boxes and Clubs

Toyota GR GT: New Teaser Confirms the Name & Reveals Bold Design

It’s hard to believe, but nearly four years have passed since Toyota first unveiled the GR GT3 Concept at the Tokyo Motor Show. Since then, the automotive world has waited anxiously to see whether it would evolve into a full production model. Early rumors suggested a Lexus badge, but earlier this year Toyota confirmed that the car would proudly wear the Gazoo Racing (GR) emblem.

Now, just days before its global debut, Toyota’s upcoming halo supercar finally has a name — the GR GT. 🎉

A newly aired Japanese TV commercial offers the clearest look yet at the production car, appearing alongside two iconic predecessors:

  • Toyota LFA (V10 legend)
  • Toyota 2000GT (inline-six classic)

The video soundtrack nods to Toyota’s heritage, moving from the 2000GT’s straight-six, to the LFA’s screaming V10, and finally what seems to be a new V8 roar from the GR GT.

🔦 Design Highlights (Based on the New Teaser Video)

  • Wide, muscular rear haunches
  • Lighting signatures reminiscent of the GR010 Le Mans Hypercar, which launches in 2026
  • A near-production look with minimal camouflage

🏁 A GT3 Race Version Is Coming Too

Toyota has already confirmed that a GT3-spec endurance racer is in development. This track-focused variant will likely share the upcoming twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8—an engine expected to appear in future Lexus performance models as well.

What We Think About the New V8

  • Twin-turbocharged
  • ~4.0 liters of displacement
  • Possible hybrid assistance (still unconfirmed)
  • A manual transmission is unlikely, but enthusiasts can dream 😅

💰 Price Expectations

Toyota hasn’t revealed pricing yet, but here’s what we can reasonably expect:

ModelPrice
Lexus LFA (Historic)~$375,000
Lexus RC F (Current US)~$100,000
Estimated GR GT Price$150,000+

Toyota reportedly benchmarked the GR GT against the previous-gen Mercedes-AMG GT, suggesting a price well into six-figure territory—yet still far below supercars from Ferrari, Lamborghini, and McLaren.

The goal this time? Deliver elite performance without repeating the LFA’s commercial challenges caused by its sky-high pricing.
