For those who thought that Brian O’Conner’s farewell in “Fast & Furious 7” had definitively ended the character’s arc, a new surprise is coming.
Vin Diesel has confirmed that Brian, played by Paul Walker until his death in 2013, will be back in “Fast & Furious 11”, a film that should conclude the main saga of the franchise.
The revelation was made during a FuelFest event in Los Angeles, where Diesel took the stage and shared with fans that the new film will return to the series’ roots, once again exploring street racing, car culture and, of course, the emotional bond between characters Dominic Toretto and Brian O’Conner .
Without going into too much detail about how this return will happen, Vin made it clear that the role will not be reassigned to another actor.
The expectation is that the production will once again use CGI technology and possibly Paul’s brother, Cody Walker, who already served as the basis for the digital recreation of the actor in the seventh film in the series.
Brian’s appearance in “Fast & Furious 11” promises to be symbolic, probably more of a cameo than a central role, but the emotional impact will be strong.
After all, the final scene of “Furious 7”, where Brian says goodbye to Dominic on a divided highway to the sound of “See You Again”, became one of the most memorable moments of the franchise.
In addition to Brian’s return, the new film will also mark the franchise’s return to the urban setting of Los Angeles, where it all began.
After stops in Miami, Tokyo, Europe and even outer space, the next chapter promises a more intimate and nostalgic atmosphere, in the style of the origins.
Scheduled for release in April 2027, the film will once again be directed by Louis Leterrier, who directed “Fast X” and the first two “Transporter” films.
The cast has not yet been officially confirmed, but Tyrese Gibson already appeared alongside Vin Diesel during the announcement. Even Dwayne Johnson, despite the controversies with Diesel behind the scenes, is expected to return.
Although fans still don’t know how the script will explain Brian’s return, one thing is certain: the franchise is preparing a grand farewell, mixing emotion, action and a lot of speed — as always.
